Visually, the 2019 Honda CB1000r proves aggressiveness. And surprised when sitting up with comfort. Honda has brought back the CB 1000 R and done a lot right.
Who decides today for an unclothed motorcycle, either accessing a reissued classic like the Kawasaki Z 900 RS or a street fighter. Honda had for this clientele until 2016, the CB 1000 R in the program, 2017 – initially without a successor – was no longer offered.
For the current season have presented a fundamentally renewed bike, which is again called CB 1000 R. In addition to the styling, the engine has also undergone changes. This is now based on the super sports car Fireblade of the year 2004.
Compared to its predecessor, the 2019 Honda CB1000r has become 12 kilos lighter and weighs only 214 kilograms. The installed aggregate, however, has increased. This now delivers 20 hp more. 145 hp brings the CB1000R on the road.
The 2019 Honda CB1000r also has an increase in the number of electronic helpers: the three preset modes of travel “Rain”, “Standard” and “Sport” vary the throttle response and adjust traction control and engine braking torque accordingly.
In a fourth mode, the driver can freely combine the settings. From the frame, which now consists of steel profiles, you see little from the outside. Rather catch radiator cowl, another Alublende under the tank and the massive Auspuffendtopf the view of the beholder. Another striking visual feature is the short tail and attached to the one-arm swingarm license plate holder, which also serves as a splash guard in the wet.
With the CB1000R Honda has no athlete put on the wheels. This is already clear when sitting up and the first meters drive. The sitting position is very upright, the ends of the handlebars meet the hands and the footpegs are mounted quite far forward. This leads to a more comfortable than an aggressive sitting position. The Sozia has less to laugh on the modern-short tail.

2019 Honda CB1000r Engine Performance & Gas Mileage
When pressure on the starter wakes up a grumpy rumbling four-cylinder to life, which announces its potential already. The smooth-running clutch and the first-class locking gear underline the good impression. If you order the variant with a plus sign behind the model name, you will also benefit from a quick-shifter. It does not only turn up but also down, without having to pull the clutch.
The 2019 Honda CB1000r prepares little adjustment problems: The four-cylinder is running normally low-vibration, moves forward vigorously and willingly turns up to 12,000 rpm. He puts a peculiarity on the road, which amazes a little. Because from about 4,000 tours, he behaves a bit, then only at 8,000 revolutions to start with Schmackes and play his 145 hp full.
This lacks a bit of the dynamism that one would expect from a 1000s in the ambitious country road fronds in the speed range between 4,000 and 8,000 rpm. This is barely noticeable on flat country roads but could be quite a noticeable uphill and down narrow bends. As far as the overall acceleration is concerned, the engine is at the level of its predecessor. He is quite frugal and can go on relaxed tours under five liters. We came to a test consumption of 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers.
The chassis is versatile and comfortably adjustable. Smaller and larger faults of the road are ironed out confidently, in cornering it conveys a lot of safety and predictability. Grippy and easy-to-adjust four-piston brakes effectively counteract propulsion when required, with the ABS failing to be suitable for use with ailerons.
The LC display is easy to read, clearly structured and constantly provides the exact status of the electronic systems. With a toggle switch on the left armature, the modes can be changed. Unfortunately, the turn signals do not have an automatic reset function.
Optical Bonbon is the big cooler in front of the series four with its matte shimmering bezels on the sides, which gives the Honda visual originality. From the front, this is done by the round headlight with two-part reflector and LED lighting units. Anyone who has ordered the 1,715 USD Plus version gets next to the Blipper a protective grille for the radiator, heated grips, and a metal seat cover. Then you are at 16,574 USD, but it gets a valuable, stylish and stylish ride
