Commercial vehicles also have to become more efficient: Ford’s fresh Spin 2019 Ford Transit facelift plug-in hybrid variant based on a three-cylinder gasoline engine.
According to the passenger car version, Ford has also undergone an extensive lifting of the commercial vehicle transit custom. The popular a-tonne transporter will be delivered in the revised version from the beginning of 2018.
The goal of Cologne has not changed since the market launch of the current generation: to reduce the comfort gap of the transporter to the car of the brand. For the prestige, the Ford Transit custom gets a new grill, a revised cockpit for more atmosphere at the workplace.
New seats promise more comfort, as in the last few years in the car series, eliminates the screen in the console in favor of a clearer operation and a larger screen. The operating logic and the design of the cockpit are based on the line that Ford introduced with the new Fiesta.
With Ford sync 3, the latest generation of Ford infotainment includes an eight-inch touchscreen. Also the mobile phone holder “MyFord Dock” is now available in the 2019 Ford Transit facelift. Invariants without a touchscreen, a smartphone or a mobile Navi can be connected here.
In the next decade, in addition to cars, commercial vehicles also have to become much more economical and therefore CO2-efficient. Ford will therefore sell the transit custom from 2019 as a plug-in hybrid. The drive should consist of a three-cylinder petrol engine with 1.0 litres and an electric motor. Ford does not yet mention final performance data, but announces an electrical range of 50 kilometers and a field test in London still 2017.
Until further use, the transporter still uses the proven diesel drive. The current 2.0-L engine debuted 2016. In transit custom, the engine is available with 105 hp, 130 PS or 170 hp. On the basis of the weakest variant, Ford will be offering a fuel version for the first time. Standard Gas consumption: 5.7 L/100 km.
Numerous assistance systems are also new. A “smart speed limiter” should be protected from exceeding the maximum permissible speed by being transferred to the cruise. In the future, Ford will be offering a blind detector with a cross-traffic alarm. This helps, for example, in backwards parking. The Emergency wizard now detects pedestrians even in the dark. Also new is an additional air suspension for the rear axle, which produces a constant ground clearance during high loading.
Ford launches the production of the revised 2019 Ford Transit facelift custom end 2017, the market launch and thus the deliveries begin in early 2018. The plug-in hybrid version follows 2019.
