In the SUV, Lamborghini makes everything different than usual. The platform comes from Audi and the engine from Porsche. The result even surpasses Bentley. Everything about the new 2019 Lamborghini Urus.

This Lambo deviates from the norm because it follows a different standard: as the first car of the brand, the Urus is based on mass production technology. He shares his platform with the Audi Q7 and the next VW Touareg, its engines with Porsche Cayenne and Panamera. That usually sounds. But not at Lamborghini. The Italians build from group parts of the fastest SUV in the world.

2019 Lamborghini Urus Terrain Mode

The power of the gasoline engine reaches all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Normally, 60 percent arrive at the rear axle. A Torsen differential distributes a maximum of 70 percent forward or 87 percent backward. An air suspension increases the ground clearance in an off-road mode to almost 25 centimeters – or lowered it in the racing program to just under 16 inches.

But it’s not only the driving data that makes the Urus interesting. He is currently the only Lambo with four seats. One does not fold in like an Aventador but sits sublimely above the traffic. And with 85 liters of tank capacity, he should work on long distances. For most customers, he will probably be the first every day, Lambo.

The first copies of the Urus Lamborghini will deliver in the spring of 2018. Without extras, the Lambo SUV costs 204,000 euros. He is hardly more expensive than a Huracan with rear-wheel drive (178,500 euros) and significantly cheaper than an Aventador (335,050 euros). In addition, it costs less than a Bentley Bentayga (208,480 euros).

In his class he is a – well – bargain. And that will have an effect on the manufactory, which built fine sports cars in a small edition so far. That was just under 3,500 cars in 2016. For the 2019 Lamborghini Urus doubled the capacity: soon it will be 7,000 cars a year. As with Porsche, the SUV will also make the numbers at Lambo.
